A study of cancer survival rates in England and Wales, by Macmillan Cancer Support, has found that on average people diagnosed with the disease typically live nearly six times longer than 40 years ago.

Health correspondent Adam Brimelow reports on how the study has highlighted that progress has been patchy, with big improvement for some cancers and little, if any, for others.
