Much has been written this week about the significance of the Autumn Statement for the coalition parties and the Labour Party and their strategies for the next election.

The Spectator's Fraser Nelson told the programme that he believes that public has a "pretty clear view that the government is doing their best" and that therefore Labour's position on the economy "needs a refresh".

Graeme Cook, associate director of think tank the Institute for Public Policy Research, said that the left needs to "recalibrate its route to social justice" and needs to be "radical in reforming the economy".
