Lawyers representing the families of thousands of people who died in a cholera epidemic in Haiti say they intend suing the United Nations for financial damages that could amount to several billion dollars.

It is part of a campaign around the extraordinary allegation that UN peacekeepers inadvertently carried cholera into the destitute Caribbean nation and are therefore responsible for the deaths.
