British video artist and director Steve McQueen's latest film Shame tackles the subject of sex addiction.

Speaking to Sarah Montague ahead of the film's release, he said there was a stigma about the condition, "because it's to do with sex".

Sex addiction "is not about someone being promiscuous… this is a disease which destroys people's lives," he said.
