David Cameron has begun a visit to Saudi Arabia for talks with the King and the Crown Prince.

Conservative MP Daniel Kawczynski told Today presenter James Naughtie that the kingdom was a key ally in the region.

"We have a media in this country who systematically and very effectively denigrate Saudi Arabia at every opportunity," he said.

"It is extremely important that we support them in their efforts to ensure that Iran does not pose a threat to the whole middle east."
