The squeeze is back on the eurozone as one of the ratings agencies has downgraded the status of nine countries - notably France which has lost its triple A rating from the agency, Standard and Poor's.

The BBC's Europe editor Gavin Hewitt says the fundamentals of Europe's economy "don't look good" and he gets the feeling that the EU crisis is now "very much back on".
