The chief operating officer of Tesco's share dealing in the first week of the New Year was, according to the company, quite within the rules that govern insider trading.

Michael Ashe QC, a company and commercial lawyer, says that in PR terms it is not very good for Tesco but actually it "isn't as bad as it looks".
