Wetherspoons says trading in its 800 pubs has remained "resilient" after reporting an increase in sales of 3.6 percent in the past three months but the chain said the increase was mainly because the bad weather of a year ago had held trade back.
JD Wetherspoon opened 18 new pubs over the year and closed two and including these changes, sales rose by 9.9%.
Tim Martin, the company's founder and chairman, tells the Today programme's Simon Jack what is behind the figures, berates the current level of VAT and outlines his view that the euro should go.
