The UK gives Pakistan about £200m in aid each year.

The Department for International Development (Dfid) has now told the BBC that women and girls will be the focus of "everything it does" in the country.

It comes as Pakistan is due to introduce new laws that are meant to help protect women.

Aleem Maqbool reports from Punjab province where cases of brutality against women are commonplace and are still often justified in the name of honour.
