A study by Imperial College has found that life is unlikely to be found on the surface of Mars.

Dr Tom Pike, who led the study, explains that analysis of the rocks on the surface of the planet suggests that they have had no more than 5,000 years of contact with liquid water over the last 100 million years - not enough to sustain life.
