Heavy artillery fire has been rocking Homs, as Syrian troops continue an assault on the restive city.

Andrew Hosken managed to speak to Omar, an anti-government campaigner in the Homs district of Baba Amr, who described attacks by helicopter gunships and T-72 tanks.

President Assad is trying to "kill the heart" of the revolution, he said. This is the decisive battle, he believes, and Assad is in his "last days".
