Twenty years ago, on 10 January 1992, two containers came loose from a cargo ship travelling from the US to China and fell into the Pacific.

In doing so, thousands of bath toys - yellow ducks, green frogs, blue turtles and red beavers - fell into the sea.

Since then, the toys have turned up on far flung shores across the world.

Author Donovan Hohn describes what happened to the toys in his book Moby Duck: The True Story of 28,800 Bath Toys Lost at Sea and of the Beachcombers, Oceanographers, Environmentalists, and Fools, Including the Author, Who Went in Search of Them.
