Google is pressing ahead with the introduction of a new privacy policy, despite warnings from the EU that it might violate European law.

Peter Barron, head of communications at Google in the UK, told the Today programme's Evan Davis that they "done a huge notification and consultation programme" in Europe ahead of the launch.

He said that you can control and manage your Google search history and privacy settings, and that if you want to opt out of targetted adverts altogether you can use Google search without signing in.
