At the river Wandle, Evan Davis was joined by Theo Pike, author of 'Trout in Dirty Places' and his "fishing buddy" Richard Baker to investigate the rising numbers of fish in urban rivers.

Mr Pike explained that the Wandle was the most "highly industrialised rivers in the entire country" which is "gradually coming back to life again" with a good number of trout returning.

But even with a major clean-up of the rivers and a flourishing fish population, Mr Pike remained doubtful about the potential for the new trend of "urban fishing".

He explains that there is a need to "change the public perception of fishing", explaining that, while fishing has become more accessible, it has yet to become truly popular.
