A hundred days before the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, UK Sport has announced that it is investing another £750,000 in helping British athletes make their final preparations for the Games.

The money is on top of Lottery and government grants and comes from the Team 2012 funding initiative, which channels cash from private donors and has now raised a total of £17m.

UK Sport Chief Executive Liz Nicholl told the Today programme's Alison Mitchell that the money will reach each and every sport in the Olympics "to give them that edge".
