The chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit has insisted that the Formula 1 Grand Prix will go ahead on Sunday despite ongoing unrest from anti-government protestors.

Zayed al-Zayani told the Today programme's John Humphrys that the criticisms by Amnesty International over allegations of human rights abuses in the country would be better sorted out between politicians and government.

"The race is not held for the government of Bahrain, it's held for F1 spectators," he said.
