Greeks voters, angry at austerity, head to the polls on Sunday in their most critical, and uncertain, election in decades.

The Today programme's John Humphrys spoke to people in a refuge in Athens who have been made homeless and jobless by the economic crisis. Leo, a man seeking refuge, told John that it was essential to remain positive in spite of the turmoil: "Without hope you cannot endure having nothing in life."

Voters are set to punish the two main pro-bailout parties that are being held responsible for the country's dire economic straits.

"What is next week's prime minister doing for me? Nothing" said a man in the refuge. "This generation is lost," he explained, "lets hope the next generation can start climbing again".
