David Cameron is to announce a number of initiatives aimed at helping families, including free parenting classes.

Vouchers for £100-worth of parenting classes will be on offer from branches of Boots and health professionals to parents of children aged up to five in three trial areas - Middlesbrough, Camden in north London and High Peak, Derbyshire

Some parenting courses are being run across the country already and the BBC's Mike Thomson went to one in Streatham, South London.

One mother, who has been attending classes for a year, told Mike Thomson "I came in as troubled mum and when I came out it brought a bond between me and my children".

"It's going to improve your life, you never remain the same again", she adds.
