Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, was in London yesterday giving her assessment of the struggling UK economy.

Speaking to Today presenter John Humphrys on the issue of Greece and the eurozone crisis she said the Greeks "have to do a lot more... They have made huge efforts but there is more to do".

She believes there is an "inconsistency" in Greece between "sending away" the political groups that support belonging to the eurozone "and by the same token wanting to be part of the euro group".

She warns of a risk of "contamination" from a Greek exit on the other countries of the eurozone.
