Former Conservative chancellor, Lord Lawson, says he is "delighted" that George Osborne performed a U-turn on charity tax relief.

Speaking to James Naughtie, he said George Osborne was "absolutely right and brave" over his decision to exempt charitable giving from the cap on tax relief.

He told the Today programme that the chancellor "took his eye off the ball" over charity tax because he was concentrating on getting a deal with the Lib Dems.
