Parking restrictions return to Ceredigion today for the first time in a year.

There have been complaints of chaos and a parking free-for-all in towns like Aberystwyth because of the absence of traffic wardens.

Katy Spain, Parking Services Manager at Ceredigion County Council, said that there hasn't been "a common sense approach" to parking from resident and visitors.

She admitted that without enforcement we have had a "problem" in the county with parking. People have been "parking in junctions, taking up disabled bays and inhibiting emergency services".

Ms Spain told the Today programme's Evan Davis that there has been a "positive response" to the introduction civil enforcement officers who will be doing the job of traffic wardens.
