Are you more likely to die on your birthday?

Researchers at Zurich University have found that we are 14% more likely to die on our birthday than any other day of the year.

Psychologist Richard Wiseman says there are two possible explanations for this statistic.

The first is too much food and drink and the second is a "reverse placebo effect".

"You are knife-edged on death and you've kept yourself going until your birthday," he explains. "It's a sort of mind over matter effect."
