On the 30th anniversary of the death of Terrance Higgins, the charity founded in his name says UK is in a position to slash the HIV rate if concerted effort is made.

Sir Nick Partridge, chief executive of the charity, explains that the "power and excellence" of anti-HIV treatment means those who are diagnosed promptly will "add about 35 years to their life expectancy".

"We've got to get the message across that HIV testing... is incredibly quick, incredibly easy," he told the Today programme.
