Doctors should try to prevent the wishes of the dead person being overridden, an article in the British Medical Journal states.

Dr David Shaw, honorary lecturer at Aberdeen University and author of the article, says "contrary to what many people think, there is no family veto at all" preventing the wishes of the dead person, according to guidelines from the Human Tissue Authority.
