Dame Tanni-Grey Thompson predicted the British team should finish in the top three, and possibly come second, in the Paralympics which start on 29 August, but China would be "virtually impossible" to beat.

Dame Thompson said the Team GB performance in the Olympics would "provide lots of motivation" for athletes taking part in the Paralympics who now face "a nervous couple of weeks" before their games begin in London.

She was also asked about the chances of the Olympics and Paralympics one day running at the same time.
