Trevor Ringland, the Conservative Party's spokesman for sport in Northern Ireland and a former Ireland rugby international, said that the feeling in Northern Ireland was one of "slight annoyance" at the use of the term Team GB to describe British athletes.

"At times we felt we weren't being included... Team UK would be more inclusive," he told the Today programme.
