It is Global Entrepreneurship week this week and, according to a study by the think tank Demos that looked at 1,000 entrepreneurs, almost all of the preconceptions that the public are said to have about entrepreneurs are wrong.
As ordinary people, the study says, entrepreneurs do not like taking risks and they do not think you need original ideas to succeed.
Sarah Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic and author of Anyone Can Do It, a book about entrepreneurship, explained that not all entrepreneurs are "swashbuckling extroverts" like Richard Branson.
Steven Fear, an entrepreneur in residence at the British Library, explained that entrepreneurs are not necessarily risk takers: "Entrepreneurs try to cut back the risks… we are not gamblers."
