Executive approves school plans
Plans for two new primary schools in the Borders have been given the green light by the Scottish Executive.

The new facilities will be constructed at Clovenfords - to replace Caddonfoot Primary - and at Lauder.

Both schemes had already been given planning consent by Scottish Borders Council but had to be endorsed by ministers at Holyrood.

A new school for Peebles, at Neidpath Grazings, also recently passed all planning requirements.
