Star collection

There is an impressive astronomy collection.

The array of telescopes includes one that may have been used by Captain Cook on board the Endeavour in the same year he "discovered" Australia.

This is the famous Oxford heliometer. It was used to make the first accurate parallax measurements to calculate the distance to the nearby star of 61 Cygni.
