Although the power station makes use of the copious supply of seawater, it also contributes to preserving the landscape, says Ron.

"It has actually played a part in keeping the beach beautiful," he said.

"If it wasn't here the village would have sprawled over the years - it has actually kept it a hamlet. It keeps it as you see it now - unspoilt."
