John Bays, 26, from Cambridgeshire, has driven to Frankfurt with friends Lee Hayes and Mark Cove.

He said: "We thought the Germans were going to be miserable and not like the English but we're well impressed.

"The stereotype is rubbish. They're not what people say they are. And it's a nice place."
