Ophrys insectifera - uncommon

It has a tall, spindly stem. There are usually between two and 10 ten well-spaced flowers, which bear an astonishing resemblance to an insect.

Male digger wasps are attracted to a chemical secretion and try to copulate with the flowers, picking up pollinia in the process.
