Meredith Kercher murder trial reaches closing stages

The murder trial of British student Meredith Kercher is reaching its closing stages in Perugia in Italy.

Amanda Knox, 22, and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, deny charges of murder and sexual violence involving Miss Kercher, 21, in November 2007.

The mother of Miss Knox, Edda Mellas, and her sister, Deanna, spoke of their certainty that she is innocent, and added that she is ''scared''.
