Wheelchair users have complained that access to the concourse at the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in St Peter Port is inadequate.
The building has recently been refurbished, but the rear entrance has remained in its original state.
Dave Chilton, Chief Officer for the Culture and Leisure department, acknowledges access is a problem.
However he claims wheelchair users are expected to use the front entrance where better provisions are provided.
