Campaign tackles binge drinking

A campaign to tackle the growing binge drinking culture is being taken into secondary schools in Guernsey.

The island's drug education and youth alcohol workers will hold assemblies as part of the "Wasted" campaign.

The initiative aims to promote safe and responsible drinking, and is in response to a surge in underage and binge drinking.

Assemblies will include recorded interviews with young people who have been affected by the misuse of alcohol.

The Drug and Alcohol Strategy team will also hold a conference on Friday to look at the impact alcohol has on the island's community.
