Young islanders could benefit most from increased funding given to Guernsey's drug and alcohol strategy, the Health and Social Services Department says. An extra £50,000 was allocated at October's States meeting, meaning a budget of £655,000 for 2010. It said it wants to use the extra money to pay for new services as well as continuing to treat islanders. Public awareness campaigns, a junior alcohol worker and a Young People's Treatments Service could be funded.
