A trial telephone medical advice scheme in Jersey has dealt with 48 callers in its first week.
Family doctors have teamed up with the island's health service to offer an out-of-hours service at weekends, bank holidays and in the evenings.
About 70% of Jersey's GPs have signed up to the scheme, which was set up with 80,000 from the States health budget.
During the six-month trial, patients can call a number for telephone advice from one of the doctors on the rota.
In the first week from 3 to 9 April, 48 people were given advice over the telephone. Twenty people went to evening and weekend surgeries, and 46 received home visits.
