Flyover in road upgrade opens
Cars
The whole project will cost 42m
A new stretch of dual carriageway which is part of a 42m road upgrade in Hull has been opened.

The new road, which is one-and-a-half kilometres long, includes a flyover.

It will run from the Southcoates roundabout to Garrison Road.

Work will now begin on re-building the existing Hedon Road.

The Highways Agency says the whole Hedon Road Improvement Scheme should be finished by the summer.

Project manager Peter Godfrey said: "The opening of this length of dual carriageway is yet another milestone in the Hedon Road scheme.

"I would like to thank all the Hedon Road users for doing their bit to keep traffic flowing smoothly, and remind them to take care whenever traffic management changes are in place."
