Organs from a teenager who died in a car crash in County Durham, have been donated to help two other people.
Simon Walker, 18, from Fairfield in Stockton, died four days after the car he was driving overturned in Back Lane, Darlington, on 4 January.
Mr Walker's family revealed his kidneys were used in two vital transplant operations in the north of England.
His mother also revealed Mr Walker's partner is expecting the couple's child in a matter of weeks.
Mr Walker failed to recover from massive head injuries sustained in the car crash.
His mother Dorothy Vickers said: "The family is still in mourning, but we can gain comfort in knowing that his death has helped two other people live.
"Simon's death has been a dreadful shock to all who knew him, but we are glad his passing has helped two people in lifesaving operations."
Mrs Vickers added the birth of her son and partner Beth Fowler's child in April would be a "lasting memorial" to the teenager.
