Motorcyclists make up just 1% of traffic on roads

A campaign has been launched to reduce the number of accidents on a stretch of road in south east Cornwall.
There have been nearly 70 accidents in the last 11 years on the A374 between Torpoint and Trerulefoot.
The route has a number of fast bends and has long been identified as needing some changes. Motorcyclists were particularly at risk, police said.
Officers from the force motorcycle team were on the Torpoint ferries on Friday to advise on how to negotiate the road.
Since 1995, there have been 68 collisions on the road, resulting in two fatalities.
Motorcyclists make up just 1% of traffic on roads but account for 26% of deaths and serious injuries in crashes on the county's roads.
