People in Plymouth and the South Hams are being invited to a discussion about the new town being built at Sherford.
The debate and an exhibition about the scheme is being hosted by the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment.
The exhibition will be at Staddiscombe Community Centre on 18 November before moving to Plymstock School for the debate chaired by MP Gary Streeter.
Outline planning permission for 4,000 new homes in four neighbourhoods is expected to be submitted in the spring.
The foundation is working with developers to influence the design of the new community.
