The new attendants have handed out hundreds of tickets
New wardens have issued almost 750 parking tickets to motorists in the first week of a crackdown in Leicester.

The city council took over control of parking enforcement from the police on 2 January.

The authority has taken on 30 new traffic wardens who are targeting cars parked on single and double yellow lines, in disabled bays and bus stops.

Motorists who are caught parking illegally have been warned that they will face a 60 fine.

The new wardens wear a distinctive maroon-coloured uniform.
