Praise for hospital's service
A Lincolnshire hospital's accident and emergency department has been praised in an independent report.

Louth Hospital's night service was introduced in May to tackle staff shortages, amid fears the department would have to close.

Clinical service manager at Loughborough's NHS Walk-in Centre, Frank Durning, has now recommended the pilot scheme be made permanent.

His study concluded a safe and efficient service was being provided.

Mr Durning, a specialist nurse, said the staff's deep level of care for patients came across in the evaluation.

A spokesperson from the trust said it was committed to maintaining and improving the emergency care service at Louth.

As a direct result of receiving the positive report from Mr Durning, a senior sister was being recruited.
