People throw away enough paper to cover 500 football pitches

Liverpudlians are being encouraged to recycle their waste this Christmas as part of a push to keep the city clean.
The Love Liverpool campaign is urging people to recycle their cans, paper and glass bottles over the festive season.
Councillor Richard Oglethorpe said the scheme was important at this time of year, as householders throw away about double the amount of waste as usual.
People in Liverpool use enough wrapping paper to cover 500 fooball pitches, according to the city council.
Extra recycling collections will be made over the Christmas period.
Mr Oglethorpe said: "Everyone knows that recycling is great for the environment and great for Liverpool. It makes it a cleaner and greener place.
"But, people say they're too busy to recycle at Christmas. That's why we're making it easy for people to go green."
All residents have to do is fill purple bags with paper, and boxes with glass bottles and jars, and put them out on the kerbside to be collected.
