Workmen will carry out repairs to a major road after a fire involving a propane tank on a road-marking vehicle.
The A46 Newark bypass was shut near Farndon for several hours after the fire on 17 December.
It took seven hours to cool the 1,400 litre tank and three fire engines were needed to deal with minor explosions.
Repair work costing 20,000 will be carried out overnight on Thursday, with traffic lights affecting motorists heading north.
Jim Allcock, Highways Agency route manager, said of the 20,000 scheme: "The work is being carried out to make permanent repairs to the road surface and ensure the continued safety of the carriageway for the travelling public.
"It is being carried out at night to minimise disruption to road users."
