Commuters face travel cost rises
Inflation-busting price increases for bus and tram passengers in Nottingham from this weekend have been criticised by a lobbying group.

An adult single on the tram will go up from 80p to 1. The cost of an all-day ticket will rise by 20p to 2.20.

Nottinghamshire Transport 2000 chair David Thornhill said the price hikes could hit poorer people.

He said: "I am worried about people who don't have alternatives - they have to use public transport to get to work."

He said low-income families would be hardest-hit by the increases affecting Nottingham City Transport bus passengers from Sunday, and tram riders the following day.
