Changes planned for greener city
Work is due to start to change the layout of streets in Nottingham.

It is all part of the 11m Turning Point programme, with the latest phase expected to take seven weeks during which some diversions will be in place.

A new look is planned for the Lower Parliament Street and Glasshouse street junction, with more Street lighting and an upgraded pedestrian crossing.

Pavements are being widened to make way for greenery and the streets should be safer for cyclists after the changes.

There will be a right-turn facility for cyclists heading from Parliament Street into Broad Street.

Turning Point is designed to create a city centre largely free of traffic, and the council said it is the biggest road improvement scheme it has ever undertaken.
