City suffers first tram fatality
The death of a 23-year-old man in a tram accident in Nottingham has been confirmed as the first such fatality since the trams were launched in 2004.

The pedestrian died following a collision with a tram at Weekday Cross in Nottingham on Saturday evening.

Police said an investigation had started into the man's death.

Nottingham Express Transit, which operates the trams, said CCTV footage in the area would be studied to determine what happened.

A police spokesman said the man has not yet been formally identified.
