Plea made for more foster carers
An appeal has been made for potential foster carers who could offer permanent homes to 10 children to come forward.

Twenty more families are also needed in Oxfordshire to provide youngsters somewhere to stay for shorter periods.

The county council is using the national Foster Care Fortnight, which is launched on Monday, to highlight the plight of local children.

The authority has posted the anonymous details of the ten youngsters on their website in the hope of finding carers.

Their details will also be on display at a special information session being held at county hall on 24 May.

Helen Oliver, the council's fostering recruitment officer, said: "We believe many people would like to come forward to foster but think that they might not be thought suitable.

"We hope they won't rule themselves out without talking to us first. What we need are people from many different backgrounds who are able to welcome a child into their family."
