Drinking alcohol on the streets could be banned in a large part of a Staffordshire town.
Borough councillors in Newcastle want places to become drink-free zones.
The proposed ban comes as the council aims to reduce alcohol and drug related crime in a bid to improve the cleanliness of parks and open spaces.
Areas included in the ban include Talke Pits, Clayton, Cross Heath and Seabridge. Playgrounds, parks and local streets would be off limits.
The plans will be discussed at a council meeting next week.
